Help & How It Works

Merchant guide · Last updated July 26, 2026

This guide is for merchants using the Cryptbrew iOS app and related services. A copy also lives at www.cryptbrew.com/help.html (linked from the app).

In short: Cryptbrew is a managed Lightning hub. Customers pay a Cryptbrew invoice. We receive the payment on our infrastructure, take a small platform fee, and automatically forward the rest to the payout wallet you register. We do not store your wallet private keys or seed phrase.

1. How payments work

  1. Register a payout destination in the app (Wallet): Lightning address (recommended) and optionally a Bitcoin on-chain address.
  2. Create an invoice for a fixed amount of sats (or USD converted to sats).
  3. Customer pays via QR (Lightning) or checkout. Funds land on Cryptbrew’s infrastructure.
  4. We forward merchant net to your registered wallet after settlement (Lightning first when available).

You do not run a node or manage channels — Cryptbrew operates that infrastructure.

2. Payouts

Lightning address

Format you@walletprovider.com. Use Verify address in the app before saving when available.

On-chain fallback

Optional bc1… address when Lightning delivery is not available. Higher minimums and network fees apply. Changing on-chain may require email confirmation.

What you receive

The amount you enter to charge is the merchant receive target. The customer pays that amount plus the platform fee (gross-up).

Invoice stays locked until a payout destination is saved under Wallet.

5. Status & amount due

“Paid” means the customer paid Cryptbrew. Forwarding to you usually happens automatically. Amount due means sats are still waiting on the hub for a successful forward — fix your payout wallet, then Retry from Wallet when shown.

6. Altcoins

Where enabled, Trocador on checkout may let customers pay with other coins. Swap fees/timing are Trocador’s; Cryptbrew’s platform fee still applies on the settlement path as configured.
